Where we sled
From the lodge, you can access terrain that’s diverse and great for riders of all levels. The property itself has rolling granite slopes sparse with trees, flat open meadows, and epic features. For day excursions, ride directly to an abandoned ski resort or watch the sunset at one of several nearby viewing points. Experienced riders may want to load up their snowboard or skis and venture beyond our peaks to terrain just waiting to be ridden. The Kirkwood area is well known for it’s deep and plentiful snowfall. But don’t take our word for it.
Bring Your Snowmobiles
Hideout Lodge is your basecamp for the week while you explore all the Sierra has to offer.
Rent snowmobiles from Hideout Lodge to ride around the property.
Safety is our number one priority. Each guest will receive state-of-the-art safety equipment including a 2-way radio, probe, snow shovel, and backpack. A thorough avalanche safety orientation will be held the night of your arrival. Riding at the lodge is self-guided but we do have guides on staff certified by the American Mountain Guide Association, are Wilderness First Responders, and keep a daily record of snow stability and conditions at all times. In addition, we have two professional snowmobilers that are your personal adventure ambassadors.
Safety sits at the center of our core values. We operate by what we refer to as a Living Itinerary. Activities are subject to weather and snowpack stability as we want our guests to be safe at all times. To prepare for days with poor weather, we’ve added comforting amenities such as an outdoor barrel sauna and wood hot tub.
