FAQ

Yes, we’ve set up limited WIFI in our Saloon which is adjacent to the main lodge. However, we encourage an off-the-grid atmosphere that’s focused on your stay.

When you arrive to us from HWY 88 we will have cleared a small parking area with the snowcat. A staff member will be there to greet you and show you where to park.

Although we have guides on staff all touring at the lodge is self-guided. Our Sierra Buttes Heli-Assisted tour is fully guided. Snowpack stability tests will be conducted by our guides daily ensuring the optimum safety of our guests. We also provide complimentary access to our state-of-the-art avalanche safety equipment and have a strict check-out and check-in policy that will be explained the day of your arrival. Our snowmobile ambassadors will provide direction on excursions to suit the ability level for you and your group.

Yes, private rooms are available as an upgrade. Inquire with our “Book Now” form. A member of our staff will call you shortly and will be happy to review the option of upgrading to a private room.

Yes, we encourage it! When coming as a group, please try to limit the number of trailers as our parking space can be limited during the winter.

No, the property is truly located deep in the backcountry and very few cell carriers work here. We do have WIFI in The Saloon and a satelite phone in case of emergencies.

Hideout Lodge is located off HWY 88 in Kirkwood, CA not far from South Lake Tahoe. Please print driving directions as some cell carriers do not have service in the area.
